Close To An Offer?

Southern Miss is out and working on the class of 2014 after finishing well in the previous class. They have invited a Florida receiver to Junior Day, and he talks about his upcoming visit and where he stands now with GoldenEaglePride.com.

George Rushing is a very talented receiver out of Cardinal Gibson high in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He's picking up a ton of early interest, and the Eagle are right there in the mix.

"The coach at Southern Miss told me I'm on the blue chip list to offer as soon as possible," he told goldeneaglepride.com.

"I think they will offer me soon. They really like me a lot and want to meet me, and have asked me to come to junior day and see the campus. I will try and make it there because I am very interested in them."

Rushing said they were on his radar even before they reached out to him.

"I knew about the new coaching staff being there and I knew how they love to throw the ball around. I was interested before but after talking with the coach they are high on my list.

"I know about the past rceivers he has coached and how successful they have been so that has my attention."

Who else is the receiver hearing from?

"I just got an offer today from Appalachian State," he said. "I have offers from Ole Miss, Marshall, Ohio, Miami of Ohio, Eastern Michigan, and Cincinatti."

Rushing said he ceraintly knows what he wants in a school, and will take his time finding the right fit.

"The environment is important to me along with the depth chart and opportunity to play right away," he said. "My relationship with the coaching staff is huge. I'm going to be there four years so it has to be a place I feel at home."

Rushing said he's going to take in a lot of visits this summer and make sure he hits those schools that have offered him.

We'll have a complete follow up with Rushing after junior day.
