FSU offers Alabama LB

Jimbo Fisher and Robby Pruitt delivered some big news to one of the top prospects in Alabama on Monday. Get the latest here.

"Florida State called me coach about me today and my coach told me to give them a call, so I did, and that is when they offered me," DeShaun Davis told Scout Monday afternoon.

"I talked to Coach Fisher and Coach Pruitt on the phone they were telling me how they loved my film and how they want me there bad. Coach Fisher told me that he loves my instincts and how when I hit people that they go backwards.

"He said I was one of the best linebackers he has seen so far because of how I attack, defeat blocks, and make sound tackles. They sounded excited about offering me."

The 6-foot, 228 pound linebacker out of Prichard (Ala.) Vigor has interest in the 'Noles and a good connection with Coach Pruitt.

"FSU has a winning program and these last few years they have been getting back into championship contention. They've had some good recruiting classes lately and they are changing for the better.

"I love their defensive swag, they are a stingy defense, and they are some real go-getters. I love that and me and Coach Pruitt have a real good relationship, so that is a plus."

Davis also has offers from Northern Illinois, South Carolina, and Tennessee at this time.

He had 148 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 8 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries, 2 blocked field goals, and 2 interceptions in 2012.
