Elmore Grabs Husker Offer

Somerset (Wisc.) junior tight end Gaelin Elmore picks up his second Big Ten offer.

Nebraska went up into Wisconsin and offered one of the Badger State's top juniors tonight as Gaelin Elmore, a 6'5, 235-lb tight end added the Huskers to his offer list.

"I've been talking off and on with the tight ends coach who is the recruiting coordinator for Wisconsin. He said he and the offensive coordinator had a chance to look at my film and wanted to offer and that they'll be up here soon, sometime in the spring, and just wanted to let me know and talk to me before they came up."

Elmore says he has never visited the school, but he also got a crash course in Husker football today, particularly, how they use the tight end.

"I know a little bit. I know they're kind of a shotgun, option team, but they were telling me what they do with their tight ends and they use the tight end a lot more than what I thought they were because they're a shotgun team. Their main base offense has two tight ends in it and pretty much all their scholarship tight ends graduate. It's a good opportunity for someone like me. They like my type of tight end because I like to block. I know lot more today [about them] than I have in the past."

Minnesota is Elmore's other offer and he visits them again tomorrow, and recently, the interest has increased to the point where it appears as though the Gophers and Huskers will have company soon.

"I get letters from Oregon, Indiana and Pittsburgh and talked to Notre Dame and Stanford. I'm taking an unofficial to Wisconsin next week. I was invited to Cincinnati's junior day. Contacted by North Dakota and South Dakota I talked to North Dakota today and they said they're going to offer me. I'm going to call them tomorrow so I can talk to the head coach to make it official."
