Derik Overstreet took a trip to Louisville to check in with the Cardinals on their Junior Day. Overstreet told FOX Sports Next that he enjoyed his latest trip to the Derby City.
"The visit was really fun and informative," said Overstreet.
But the trip wasn't just about the gridiron. Charlie Strong's staff focused more on the scholastic side of the school and team camaraderie.
"The way whole staff emphasized academics stood out and the team being a family," Overstreet said. "It just showed that they care about their players as people too," he continued.
Overstreet said he also enjoyed seeing the way the defense would play and how he'd fit into.
"At the end, everybody separated and I went with the linebackers. The coaches showed us film and explained what their linebackers were expected to do. It helped me learn a lot about their defense and where I'd fit in," he finished.
FOX Sports Next will keep you posted on Derik Overstreet.
