WR Spring Risers in Texas

FOX Sports NEXT takes a look at a few players in the state of Texas who have started to see some movement in the recruiting process. In fact, we estimate that this spring even more interest, and offers will come their way. Check out the players we think will keep college coaches coming to their school in heavy rotation. Today we look at the wide receivers.

WR Kendall Adams (6-1, 180) – Fort Worth (TX) All Saints
Not a lot has been going on with Adams, but there's no doubt the interest is there for him. Earlier this month he got a junior day invite to Oklahoma. At some point during the process Washington State, TCU Baylor and Texas have shown some interest. It's only a matter of time and a couple of spring workouts before Adams gets offer No. 1.

WR Tony Upchurch (6-1, 210) – Pearland (TX) Dawson
Here is an interesting scenario. Upchurch is the type of player when you see play, it will not be forgotten. He's tough, electric and ready to make a big play at a moment's notice. But still to this day, only LSU has offered. Texas and Texas A&M have shown interest, but Upchurch admits that things have been quiet here lately. That will not likely continue through spring practice when coaches get to see him up close and take another look at the video. It may be quiet now, but there's a chance that things could not only pick up, but blow up during spring ball.

WR Romello Brooker (6-4, 205) – Houston (TX) Alief Taylor
There has been a revolving door with coaches coming through Taylor, and for good reason. The Lions' team has had solid talent for a couple of years and 2014 is another good one. With Brooker, it's not a matter of if, but when. SMU, Boise State, Houston, Michigan State, Missouri and Texas Tech have all been showing interest. With his size and production, he will have more than a few offers before his senior season.

WR Marcus Perkins (5-9, 160) – Garland (TX) Naaman Forest
Perkins has the ability to be a game breaker once he gets into space. And it's clear that a number of college coaches see the same. UTSA, for now, is showing the most interest, but Texas, Arkansas, Kansas and Houston have made some contact as well during the process. If Perkins does not get an offer this spring, it could happen during the camp season. But it is likely to happen.

WR Marvin Saunders (6-5, 230) – Houston (TX) Kinkaid School
It was a call from Kinkaid coach Stephen Hill that brought some light to this young man whom he found on the basketball court. Hill said that this kid would be the real deal. Saunders is tall, raw and athletic, and one who Mississippi State has already extended an offer to. He passes the eyeball test for sure and once spring comes around, looks for plenty of other coaches to follow the lead and drop some offers off as well.
