Chaparral HS ATH Trevor Wood (Scottsdale, AZ) picked up an offer from Boise State just a couple weeks ago and the Broncos appear to be a strong contender for his services. The talented ATH says he likes the "winning atmosphere" in Boise and brings versatility to the field as he can play a number of different positions.

"I got a message from Boise State on Facebook," he said. "They asked me to call, I did, and Coach Huff offered me. He wants me to go there and join Jake Roh. He said we could get on the field together at Boise State."

"Boise State likes me at TE," he stated. "Jake has been talking about Boise State a bit too since he's going there to play TE as well. He makes little comments about us going to Boise together. He jokes around about it."

"They like my versatility," said Wood. "I can play on either side of the ball. Also, my size and speed as well. I get down and block the linemen, but also flex-out as a WR as well."

He also says the Boise State program has a "winning atmosphere."

"They have a winning atmosphere," he said. "They're all about being together, having the same goals, and they can develop players really well," he added.

Wood has reeled in a number of early offers and would likely have a few more had he played a full-season in 2012. A right-shoulder injury caused him to miss the season, but schools continue to offer and show interest.

"I tore my right shoulder, missed my entire junior season, but I've been cleared for spring ball," he said. "My goal this year is to just be the best player I can be and for us to be the best team we can be. We want to reach our max potential this season."

"The thing I'm looking for in a school is just that feeling I get when I'm there," said Wood. "Early playing time will be big for me. I'm also looking for a family atmosphere and a team that can compete for championships."

So, what does Trevor Wood (6'6, 240, 4.62) bring to the gridiron?

"I'm a guy that will always try to be the best I can be," he said. "I give it my all on every play and lead by example," he added.

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Trevor Wood.
