Hall weighing his options

Baylor commit Davion Hall wasn't expecting to receive an offer from LSU. But now that he has, the four-star athlete is seriously considering what LSU, and other programs, have to offer.

Contact between LSU and Davion Hall had been minimal, but that didn't mean the Tigers weren't keeping a close eye on this East Texas prospect.

So when Steve Ensminger called Hall to inform him LSU was extending him an offer, it came as a pretty big surprise.

"I really liked it," Hall said. "I like the way they play. I like the feel I get from them…I got a lot of mail from them, but it wasn't too much [contact]."

Hall looks forward to learning more about LSU now that he knows the interest is mutual. He said he hopes to make his first trip to campus this spring or summer.

"I don't know as much about their program," Hall said. "But I want to go down there and check out everything."

Hall committed to Baylor early in his recruiting process, particularly because of relationships he has with people at the school and how he he'd fit in their up-tempo offense. But the added interest he's picked up from schools since he made that pledge has gotten him to reconsider his options.

Hall said with this newest offer, LSU has moved into his top four, along with Baylor, Texas A&M and Alabama (the Tide have yet to offer). He said he's going to take his time weighing all his options.

"I still have to figure that all out," Hall said. "I'm going to look at some more stuff, and if I like somebody else I'll more than likely change."

Rated by Scout as a four-star safety, Hall played both ways for Libert-Eylau High School in Texarkana, Texas. He racked up 716 yards rushing and receiving with 15 touchdowns, including two kick returns for TDs. He also pulled down two interceptions.

He said the LSU staff is recruiting him as an athlete for now.

"The LSU coach told me I could play right away, that's something I would look forward to," Hall said. "I can play both [offense and defense]."

Hall said he doesn't have any trips scheduled for the coming months, but wants to try and make as many visits as possible in the spring and summer, so he can get to know his other suitors.

"I'm going to check out a couple more places," Hall said. "I don't know really know yet. I'll have to check and see."
