Kentucky has added a late addition to its 2013 signing class in the form of Fullerton (Calif.) Community College defensive tackle Melvin Lewis.
The 6-foot-4, 300-pound Lewis announced via the social network Twitter on Thursday that he had signed with the Wildcats. He chose UK over Miami and Washington, among others.
"Lexington will be my new home," Lewis said via his BigMel94 handle. "Thank you God for guiding me to play for the University of Kentucky #BBN."
New UK head coach Mark Stoops indicated to KentuckyScout on Wednesday that the Wildcats were looking to potentially add a couple of players to their No. 38 national signing class with open scholarships.
As a sophomore at Fullerton, Lewis recorded 41 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
