"Ever since ASU coach Keola Loo came up I have gotten a good vibe from him. I felt like I was close with ASU based on his attitude and what he told me," said Rush. "The offer came out of the blue, I played basketball today and he called me after, told me I had the offer."
The 6'3" 235lbs prospect said the coaches were unclear about whether he will play linebacker or defensive end. Either way, he was excited to have the first major offer under his belt.
"It's just gives me that feeling, not a loss of confidence, but reassuring I guess to get that offer," said Rush. "ASU was my dream offer; it is where I have wanted to go."
So was there a temptation to make a commitment?
"When they offered, I almost committed," said Rush. "But I feel like you have to settle down and weigh your options."
Rush plans on getting out to as many schools and camps as he can this summer.
"I am going to Boise State on Saturday for their junior day, I think they are close," said Rush. "This summer I will be at the All-Poly camp and was going to be at the Arizona State camp, but I don't know if Ill make it now. My dad coaches for the Angels and we visit spring training every year, they are right near ASU, so I might go then."
