Louisiana Notebook

Ouachita WR Cameron Sims got a new offer yesterday from an SEC program. Read on for details on Sims and much more recruiting news from around the state.

  • Cameron Sims reported a new offer from Tennessee Friday afternoon. A few weeks ago he reeled in an offer from Georgia, which rarely recruits in the state of Louisiana. Sims listed Alabama as his favorite after nabbing an offer at junior day, and the 6-4, 195-pounder hasn't revealed much to the media since. He leads top-seeded Ouachita vs. No. 4 East Ascension today in a Class 5A hoops semifinal.

  • Parkway QB Brandon Harris received a "video offer" from North Carolina. The Tar Heels' staff was impressed with Harris' video and will travel to Bossier City during the spring to watch him throw live. Harris did not make it to Texas A&M for junior day today.

  • LSU offered Edna Karr linebacker Donnie Alexander, who didn't wait long to accept. Alexander helped the Cougars claim the 2012 Class 4A state title. He is one of several Cougars being recruited by LSU.

  • Four-star LSU TE commit Jacory Washington indicated to Sam Webb with GoBlueWolverine.com that he'll visit Michigan during the summer, along with Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Florida and Alabama; "probably UL and Texas A&M," and "of course LSU."

  • Kenny Young (Curtis), Garrett Brumfield (University), Garrald McDowell (Covington) and Dylan Moses (University) all landed Alabama offers last weekend at junior day.

  • New Iberia defensive back Daniel Lewis committed to Hawaii. He's received junior day invites from Boise State, Arizona State and the Cajuns.

  • Tulane offered Destrehan standouts Donovan Isom (QB) and Rae Juan Marbley (OLB). It was the first offer for the pair of Wildcats.

  • Warren Easton LB Edward Williams signed with Tulane today. A long-time Texas A&M commit, Williams didn't ink with anyone on signing day. He later committed to Texas Tech but ultimately decided to stay local.

  • Catholic-New Iberia WR Gabe Fuselier grabbed headlines after clocking the fastest 40-yard dash and shuttle at the Houston Nike SPARQ Combine. Fuselier should catch a ton of passes the next two years with QB Jason Pellerin stepping into the shoes of departing senior Joe Lissard. He ran a 4.45 in Houston with a 4.03 shuttle.

  • 2015 offensive tackle Garrett Thomas appears to be on the verge of landing his first offer from Auburn. The 6-6, 290-pounder will visit Auburn later this month. He's at Texas A&M junior day this weekend.

  • Terrence Alexander (John Curtis Christian) got a flurry of offers over the past few days with Memphis, Mississippi State, Arkansas and Louisiana Tech among the latest. He's at Texas A&M junior day this weekend.

  • Louisville reportedly offered Archbishop Rummel 2014 CB Henre' Tolliver.

  • Mandeville QB Glen Cuiellette committed to Tulane, and the Green Wave staff informed Hahnville OL Hunter Perrin that he'll likely get one soon.

  • John Curtis RB George Moreira, who averaged 13.5 yards per carry last year, got his first offer from Coach Jabbar Juluke at Louisiana Tech.

  • East Ascension RB Sione Palelei collected Southern Miss and Louisiana Tech offers. Wisconsin and Arizona State are very interested.

  • Mattrell McGraw (Curtis DB) pulled in his first offer from Hawaii in mid-January. Since then, McGraw has pocketed 20-plus more with Michigan State, Georgia Tech, Minnesota, UCLA and Oklahoma State among the most recent.

  • Four-star WR Malachi Dupre, McGraw's teammate and best friend, has well over 30 offers. Notre Dame, Miami, Michigan, Arizona and Georgia Tech all offered within the past few weeks.

  • St. Augustine CB Jermaine Roberts and OL Joseph Paul have both pulled in numerous BCS offers. Alabama, Michigan, Texas and Texas A&M are among Roberts' newest offers.
