Loechel hearing from three
Middle linebacker Kyle Loechel of Indianapolis (Ind.) Cathedral is hoping to receive his first offer this spring. "I'm hearing from Purdue, Ball State, and Indiana right now, so hopefully something will happen soon," Lochel said. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound linebacker discusses each school that's expressing interest. Purdue: "I visited Purdue for their junior day and really liked it. Coach [Marcus] Freeman seems like a really smart guy, and their coaching staff is all on the same page. It's a good program, both for academics and football. I will probably go to their camp this summer." Ball State: "The coaches at Ball State visited last month. They want me to come up for spring practice, so I probably will. I have a teammate [Stu Stanley] who signed with Ball State this year, and I've seen their campus. It's really nice." Indiana: "I haven't been hearing a lot from Indiana recently, but I would like to. My mom went there and my sister goes there, so I've seen their campus like a million times." Attacking the line is something Loechel excels at on the field. "We play a 3-3-5 defense, so I rush the line a lot. I pride myself on getting of the block quickly and getting to the tackle," Loechel said. He plans to decide on a school this fall. "Hopefully, I'll be able to decide before my senior year completely ends. That would be the ideal situation," Loechel said.
