Georgia Tech was one of the first to offer that day. Mattrell is one of the defensive back priorities for the Tech 2014 class. "Coach (Ted) Roof said I fit his scheme perfectly and I can play either safety or corner in his plans."
Coach Roof also filled Mattrell in on the program and the academic side of things at Tech. "I didn't know how great their engineering program is and how they put players in the NFL. He says that he has place for me and three other teammates of mine that Georgia Tech has offered."
McGraw has established a good relationship with Oklahoma State and Coach Glen Spencer. "The facilities are great and it is close to home." Oklahoma State has also offered some of McGraw's teammates.
Mattrell found out he had an offer from Memphis through an alum from his high school. "They said that are really interested in me and want me to come there and be a part of their building a big time program."
Arkansas has invited Mattrell to visit and he plans to make that visit. They too have offered some of his teammates.
Michigan State has told McGraw that they can get him to the NFL. They've also told McGraw that they run the same defense that most NFL teams run. "I could be another one that Michigan State puts in the NFL and they have offered a couple of my teammates."
McGraw and his teammates have talked about playing together in college. "Malachi (Dupree) and I would love to be able to go to college and have each other as teammates once again." McGraw and his teammates also realize that what could be great for one might not be for the other.
When it comes to factors that will enter into his decision, Mattrell has one thing in mind. "I want to play as a freshman whether it be on special teams or just in a 3rd down package." McGraw is also looking to play for a winning program. "My freshman year we lost in the state finals and since then we have won a national championship."
