Cyphers Eager for Spring

The Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian cornerback, Malik Cyphers, is hoping springs brings new offers...

Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian cornerback Malik Cyphers (5-10, 170), took part in the NLA Elite 7on7 for the fourth time over the weekend.

"Being a fourth year player here, it's a lot more fun now," said Cyphers. "I remember coming as an 8th grader and playing against some great players, but being nervous. Now it's more fun. It's a good experience so I'm trying to enjoy my time."

Cyphers was offered by SMU as a freshman, but said many more schools from around the country are showing interest.

"I don't have any new offers, but there is a lot of interest coming from the SEC, ACC and all over. I'm excited about going into my senior year and seeing what schools are going to offer me."

A number of Pac-12 schools are interested in Cyphers, namely UCLA, USC and Washington.

"A lot of the Pac-12 schools have players I'm familiar with or played with, like Sean Parker, Ishmael Adams, Robert Woods and Jordan Payton," said Cyphers. "So I'm definitely interested in Washington, UCLA and USC."

Cyphers said he planned to camp at USC and UCLA this summer as well as going to the NFTC this weekend in Los Angeles.

"I'm also doing some track stuff, but I am looking forward to camping at USC and UCLA and showing what I can do," said Cyphers.
