Cage Starting To Heat Up

With a new ranking by, Daniel Cage is starting to pick up the offers many expected out of the Cincinnati, Ohio native.

After a big junior season, Cincinnati (Ohio) Winton Woods defensive tackle Daniel Cage is starting to see the rewards.

"I've received several offers recently," said Cage. "Western Michigan, Miami Ohio, Akron, Georgia Tech, Cincinnati and Florida are some of my newest ones.

"The Florida offer was kind of a surprise to me as the coach had contacted me on Facebook and when I called him, he said I had an offer. So that was totally unexpected."

While the Gators offer may have been a surprise, Cage is ready to learn more about the program.

"I've heard Florida has a good educational program and sports program," said Cage. "This summer I'll be looking to go down there and seeing it for myself."

Cage is also hoping to visit several other programs this spring or summer.

"I don't know too much about Georgia Tech," said Cage. "I plan on going down there this spring with my coach. I've also been talking with Notre Dame and hope to visit them this summer.

"Kentucky wants me to come down and check out their facilities and that is when I think they will offer me."

Looking to major in physical therapy and getting a minor in math, Cage is set of finding a program where academics are as important as its football.

FOX Sports NEXT is sure more programs will soon be coming after the 6-foot-3, 280-pound defensive tackle soon.
