Hubbard Visits Ohio State

Moeller (OH) junior Sam Hubbard may be committed to play Lacrosse at Notre Dame, but he has quickly become a hot commodity on the football field. Check out how his visit to Ohio State went.

6-foot-6, 210 pound outside linebacker Sam Hubbard has blown up on the recruiting scene. The junior made his way up to Columbus Tuesday to check Ohio State.

"It was awesome. I got up there around 10 am on Tuesday and toured the campus. I got to see everything. I then watched the first practice, met the linebacker and secondary coach. It was just awesome. It's an incredible place."

Hubbard is currently committed to play lacrosse at Notre Dame. o while he was in Columbus, he took the opportunity to talk with both the leader of the football Buckeyes as well as the lacrosse team.

"I sat down with Coach Meyer, the football coach, and later Coach Myers, the lacrosse coach. I talked with Coach Myers about playing both sports. He knows that I would be there for football, but if my grades were ok and if Coach Meyer was ok with it I could play both. He said they would love to have me if I could get the chance."

As for the possibility of playing both sports, Hubbard is leaning more towards one than the other.

"I didn't really talk with Coach Meyer about lacrosse because I'm not sure I would do it. I want to focus on playing football first and take it from there. I'll most likely just play football."

The junior plans on putting the rest of his visits on hold until the summer.

"I'm in the middle of lacrosse season so I'm laying low. A lot of schools want to get me on campus so I'll probably take some visits in early June."

Hubbard currently holds offers from Boston College, Illinois and Ohio.
