Major Offers in for Sheffield

FOX Sports NEXT has the update on Marshall athlete Kendall Sheffield from Missouri City, Texas, who has pulled in three offers within a matter of 48 hours. The word is certainly out on the 2015 talented athlete.

Late last year, Missouri City (TX) Marshall athlete Kendall Sheffield, who had just completed his sophomore season, pulled in an offer just before Christmas from Baylor. And while he has been invited to plenty of junior days (Texas, Texas A&M, Baylor), the interest in him has been building all off season.

Now that interest has converted over into offers to the class of 2015 athlete.

"Oklahoma just offered Kendall. I got the call from (Marshall) coach James Williams," Sheffield's father said Thursday morning.

But it didn't stop here. On Friday, two SEC programs – LSU and Texas A&M – both offered according to dad within the hour. The 6-foot, 175-pound Sheffield is no doubt a football player, but is also a world-class sprinter and hurdler. He is a 7-time national champion hurdler and was clocked at a combine last summer with a 40-yard time of 4.37 seconds.

His speed was also well documented at the US Army All-American Combine this past January when he clocked a couple of sub-4.4 40-yard times while there.

This past season, Sheffield played cornerback and recorded three interceptions. He also had some snaps on offense, and played an integral role in the special teams.
