All Das Tautalatasi does is win

Concord (Calif.) De La Salle athlete Das Tautalatasi played a big role in the Spartans winning another state title last season and helped Team AIGA win the NLA Las Vegas 7 on 7 tournament over the weekend.

Das Tautalatasi is one of the state's top two-way players and has a very nice upside to him. He rushed for 1,034 yards and six touchdowns as a junior while totaling 40 tackles and two picks from his safety position.

"He's one of the best safeties I've coached here," long time Spartan DC Terry Eidson said. "He has great football instincts and is a big hitter too. He's a great running back too and catches the ball very well. We move him around all over the place but I think safety is his best position in college."

Tautalatasi played safety and receiver for AIGA and was very impressive on both sides of the ball. He's rangy and covers a ton of ground at safety and like all Spartan players, has an extremely high football IQ and a great understanding of how to play the position.

"I'm still waiting for my first offer but I'm hearing from a few schools," Tautalatasi said following the tournament. "I'm going to visit UNLV, Fresno State and California in the next week or so and plan to camp at a few schools too but I'm not sure where yet. I'm still working out my schedule so I don't have any schools set yet but I will.

"I'm also hearing from USC, Arizona State and Utah State and Utah State sounds like they could be close to offering. Right now, my top three would be USC, Stanford and Notre Dame. All three are great academics schools and that's what I want. I want good football of course but I'm looking for a school with an extraordinary academic reputation and that's why those three stand out."
