Three-star RB enjoys trip to Louisville

University of Louisville football coach Charlie Strong had several prospects on campus this weekend, including three-star running back Mikel Horton. The junior from West Chester, Ohio, Lakota West made an unofficial visit on Saturday.

With 13 scholarship offers in hand, West Chester, Ohio, Lakota West three-star running back Mikel Horton decided to check out one of those schools on Saturday.

The 6-foot-1, 225-pound Horton made an unofficial visit to Louisville and spent the day with Charlie Strong and his staff.

Horton met with the staff, toured the facilities and attended the U of L-Notre Dame basketball game at the KFC Yum Center.

"It was great and the people were nice," Horton said, noting he wanted to get back to Louisville again. "Some of the (players) were on Spring Break, so I am going to go up again sometime soon."

Horton also said he plans to visit Arkansas soon. His list of offers includes Florida State, U of L, Kentucky, Minnesota, Indiana, Cincinnati and Purdue.

As a junior, Horton made the first team all-conference team after rushing for 1,003 yards and 13 touchdowns.
