Arizona St. likes Hawaii commit

The Arizona State Sun Devils are looking at three-star Hawaii commit Daniel Lewis. Find out more inside...

Hawaii three-star defensive back commit Daniel Lewis is getting recruited by several additional schools such as Arizona State.

"Coach (Mike) Norvell likes how I'm physical," said Lewis, who committed to Hawaii in late February. "He's coming down to watch me in the spring game.

"He wants to get me on the phone with their defensive backs coach when the quiet period is over. He told me about their scheme; how it's 'DB heaven' over there, and how they had the nation's third-best pass defense."

Lewis plays corner for head coach Rick Hutson at New Iberia Senior High (NISH), as well as some running back and wildcat.

He's projected as a free or strong safety in college due to his excellent ability to stop the run.

The 5-11 1/2, 190-pounder is already academically qualified.

Boise State, Florida Atlantic and the Ragin' Cajuns in nearby Lafayette are also showing interest.
