Bunting Will Visit Oregon

Hinsdale (Ill.) wide receiver Ian Bunting has been adding offers, becoming one of the top prospects for the class of 2014 at tight end due to his size and athleticism. Here he discusses his offer from Oregon and where he will be visiting in the future.

Bunting has 14 offers and said that about 10-15 other schools have reached out to show their interest in him. With a list that's growing by the week, he admitted that he's in no hurry to name a top five, choosing to take his time.

"I'm waiting it out for now, seeing how things go," Bunting said. "Sometime this summer I'll narrow down the list."

Bunting recently received an offer from Oregon during a call from head coach Mark Helfrich before he took the court for a basketball game.

"We were talking for a while, about the school and where they see me fitting in and talking about my family and my school," Bunting said, adding later, "I was really excited. I had a little extra jump in my step during the basketball game."

Oregon recruiting coordinator Jim Fisher has been the primary contact for Bunting, however he has been talking to tight ends coach Tom Osbourne and Helfrich on occasion.

"They like my athleticism, especially for my size," Bunting said. "Everyone knows they're a fast-paced team and they see me fitting in there as a tight end that they can flex out and throw the ball to. I can go in and block and then on the next play I can go up and get a touchdown in the corner of the end zone."

Bunting returned from a trip to Northwestern last Friday and plans on visiting Wisconsin next weekend. And those aren't the only schools he's visiting.

"I'm going to Oregon on the weekend of April 6th," Bunting said. "The weekend after that I'm going to Notre Dame."

Though he's being scouted as a tight end due his his big frame, Bunting is looking for a school that will use him as a target to throw to, not just as a blocker.

"I've been a wide receiver all my life and that's my game," Bunting said.
