Reavis sees Clemson

Three-star safety C.J. Reavis, a junior from Chester, Va., visited Clemson earlier this month for Junior Day.

DB C.J. Reavis Profile

The Thomas Dale High School prospect gave the visit a good review.

"I watched them practice. I watched coach [Mike] Reed go through the drills with all the DBs. I met Travis Blanks, chatted with him a little bit. I talked to the DBs, asked them how it was and the coaches were, stuff like that," Reavis told CUTigers earlier this week.

He added, "Me and some of the recruits went on an academic tour. I talked to coach [Brent] Venables, coach Reed and coach [Dabo] Swinney a little bit."

What was the message from the coaches?

"They were telling me that I'm a fit and everything that they wanted…I'm definitely the type of player they wanted."

Reavis has also taken spring visits to UNC and Wake Forest. Tennessee hosted him the weekend after his trip to Tigertown. He'll head to Virginia Tech on the 23rd.

With upwards of 15 offers, including Georgia Tech, Nebraska, UNC, N.C. State, Ohio State, Tennessee and both instate programs, Reavis has yet to land a Clemson offer.

The Tigers' coaches told him he'd learn later this week whether or not he had one.

What stands out about Clemson?

"They're a program that's on the rise. That's what I like about them. They need a little bit of help at the DB spot."

As a junior, Reavis had 107 tackles, four interceptions, one returned for a touchdown and three forced fumbles
