Wave offers Warriors commit

Three-star defensive back Daniel Lewis (Hawaii commit) added his second offer from Tulane...

Three-star Hawaii defensive back pledge Daniel Lewis grabbed offer number two today from Tulane.

"Tulane officially offered me a scholarship," Lewis said. "I was so pumped to find out."

The 5-foot-11 1/2, 190-pounder (tipped the scales at 190.2 this week) got his first offer from Hawaii last year and committed to secondary coach Daronte' Jones a few weeks ago.

He attended Tulane football games last fall in his original hometown of New Orleans.

After a combine in Houston this weekend - Lewis will travel to Texas with Opelousas WR Mandell Sam - the junior from New Iberia Senior High will visit the Cajuns the following week.

"I talked with Coach Hud last night on the phone," Lewis said. "He was laid back and chilled. He's usually real fired up.

"He was talking about junior day. I told him Coach (Rick) Hutson (NISH boss) and I are going to a UL practice next week, and he said to make sure I let him know so we can come down on the field."

Coach Fred Jackson at Michigan sent Lewis a handwritten letter inviting him to the Wolverines' summer camp, as well as junior day in Ann Arbor.
