Florida DL names top schools

Jake Morphew is a talented defensive line prospect from Pasco High in Dade City and he talks about the latest.

Jacob Morphew played alongside University of Florida-bound Joey Ivie on the defensive line at Pasco High as a junior last season.

While he was often over-shadowed by the heavily recruited senior, Morphew managed to have a very good season himself. He finished the season with 44 tackles, two sacks, and one fumble recovery.

Morphew, 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, talked about what separates him from other players at his position.

"I'm always working hard in the weight room, on the field and off the field. I never stop working," he said.

While Morphew is still waiting on his first Division 1 offer, he talked about a few schools who have caught his attention early on and what he'll be looking for when choosing a school.

"I like Memphis, USF, UCF, and Miami," he said. "I wanna be an engineer, and so I'll see if the people are nice and if they have a good football program."
