Sousa Talks Badgers Offer

Continuing to maintain a presence in Florida, Wisconsin and receivers coach Chris Beatty extended an offer to Orlando Lake Nona junior wide receiver Ryan Sousa.

After the program had luck in the Sunshine State under Bret Bielema, Wisconsin and head coach Gary Andersen are continuing to tap into recruiting hotbeds in the state of Florida.

With wide receiver coach Chris Beatty having recruiting south Florida for multiple years, Wisconsin has extended multiple offers in the state with the latest going to Orlando Lake Nona junior wide receiver Ryan Sousa.

"I've talked to Coach Chris Beatty and he is the one who told me the news," Sousa told Badger Nation. "Every offer is a blessing and I was really excited when he told me. Wisconsin is the three time defending Big Ten champs, they have a great facility and have an amazing staff of coaches.

"Coach Beatty is a great individual who actually wants to build a relationship with you, and he is easy to talk to. He is just a great man."

The 6-0, 180-pound Sousa – a three-star athlete - reports over a dozen offers coming off a 92 reception season with 1,600 yards and 21 touchdowns, including Cincinnati, Rutgers, UCLA and Wake Forest.

Sousa admits that his competitiveness in football game from his older brother, Kevin, who is a redshirt freshman quarterback for Wake Forest. Being only three years apart, Sousa admits how much his older brother helped him develop his edge.

"He paved the way for me and always motivated me to be my best," said Sousa. "He helped me strive for nothing less. He made me always play smart, but fierce at the same time. He told me to work out hard because it would be worth it in the long run.

"You have no idea on how competitive we were. We competed for every single little thing."

Sousa plans on taking visits over the summer to develop possibly to his top six schools. In addition to possibly visiting Wisconsin, Sousa, who claims no favorites, would like to decide before his senior year.
