Brown Enjoys Junior Day Visit

Southern Miss hosted around 150 prospects on campus this weekend. Tuscaloosa Academy defender Torrence Brown gave us his initial reactions and went into detail about the day.

Torrence Brown is a hybrid LB/DE who is an incredible athlete for Tuscaloosa Academy.

The talented prospect already holds an offer to Southern Miss, and was on campus for Junior Day in Hattiesburg.

"I really enjoyed the day a lot, we had a lot of fun," he said to GoldenEaglePride.com after his visit.

"I loved meeting all the coaches, and especially Coach Monken. The energy of the coaches is really incredible. They were all cool guys and got along with us really well."

He went into detail about other aspects of the visit.

"We also toured the facilities, saw the field, the weight room, and the locker rooms," he added. "I loved the locker rooms and the field seems like it has a great atmosphere to it.

"It wasn't a great day so we couldn't see everything we wanted to like the practice field, but we did get to see a lot of things there.

"We had lunch together and met some academic counselors."

Brown said the coaches discussed how they would see him fitting into the defense.

"They like me as a bandit position, which is a mix between a linebacker and a defensive end," he said. "They said they really want me here, and I could see myself ending up at Southern Miss.

"I'm not ready to commit though. I want to take my visits and really take my time on my decision, but Southern Miss is going to be at the top for me."
