Brown Adds New SEC Offer

With the physical size and athletic ability to play multiple positions, 2015 recruit George Brown has seen early interest from several programs. On Saturday, Brown picked up another offer from an SEC program.

The spring has been good to Cincinnati (Ohio) Colerain product George Brown with early scholarship offers.

Brown, who now stands 6-oot-6, 253-pounds, visited Vanderbilt on Saturday coming away with a new offer.

"It was nice and they surprised me as I didn't know a lot about Vanderbilt," said Brown." "They have good academics and their football is on the rise."

While several things stood out for Brown, he remembers most how the Vanderbilt coaching staff seemed around him.

"Coach (Herb) Hand is my main recruiter and he seems like a pretty nice coach," said Brown. "The defensive line coach wants me to play on defense and Coach Hand wants me as an offensive tackle.

"I could see myself there as the coaches all seemed like pretty good coaches and cool."

Despite two early offers from SEC programs, Brown knows it's too early to be too excited.

"I can never get big headed," stressed Brown. "I know I need to stay humble and keep working out."

While Brown is hearing from many, he's putting together plans for his next visit.

"I think I'm going to visit North Carolina State next," said Brown. "I've been talking with Coach U (Mike Uremovich) and think I'm going to visit them."

This fall will be a big year for Brown as he'll see playing time on both sides of the ball.

"This year I'm going to move around," said Brown. "I'm going to play tight end and move in to play tackle and also get to play some defensive end."
