Ohio Soph Adds Two More

The recruiting roll continues for Cincinnati Colerain sophomore lineman George Brown, as the top 2015 prospect picked up two more BCS offers over the weekend. Vanderbilt and Illinois are the latest to offer the two-way lineman.

Even though only a sophomore, Cincinnati Colerain two-way lineman George Brown has drawn the interest of college recruiters. The 6-foot-6, 253-pound, Brown added two more BCS offers over the weekend.

"This weekend I was offered by Vanderbilt and Illinois," Brown stated. "I was at Vanderbilt on a visit this past Saturday when I got that offer. I think a lot of Vanderbilt as a program, and I was very impressed by what I saw there. I like that Vanderbilt is a great academic school, and that means a lot to me."

"For me, it's education first, then football," he added. "Coach (James) Franklin offered me the scholarship in his office, and I was happy to have that offer. They are recruiting me for either side of the football, at offensive tackle or defensive end. I will definitely consider Vanderbilt highly."

One day after landing the Vanderbilt offer, Brown learned he had landed his first Big Ten offer.

"Illinois offered me Sunday when we spoke on the phone," he explained. "I was talking to Coach (Alex) Golesh and he told me I had the scholarship offer from Illinois. They are also recruiting me to play either side of the football, and I'm excited to have a Big Ten offer. I'm planning on visiting Illinois at some point this spring."

Several other schools are looking closely at this sophomore, who is one of the highest-rated 2015 prospects in Ohio.

"I will be going to Ohio State and North Carolina State in the next few weeks," Brown said. "I'm also hearing from Miami of Florida, and they have been my school twice so far last winter checking on me."
