"FIU offered me last spring," Torres said. "Now I have offers from Rutgers, North Carolina State, Louisville, Marshall, USF, Florida State and Georgia Tech. I think FSU was the most recent. They have all happened pretty quickly for me."
Torres, 6-foot-4 and 260-pounds, has made two visits this spring, one to USF and one to Florida.
"I went to USF for their junior day a few weeks ago," Torres said. "It was my first time visiting anyone. It was very interesting. I sat down with the coaches and they told me they were offering me so I was kind of excited. That's a brand new coaching staff and they are an up and coming program. I liked the facilities and everything. USF was very nice.
"I went to visit Florida and that was very nice too. I got to tour of everything and saw their facilities. It was very nice."
Torres is going to make two more visits in the very near future.
"I am going to Miami on Wednesday to look at them and in the coming weeks I will visit FSU."
With the May Evaluation right around the corner Torres should expect many scholarship offer opportunities, as there are several other big name programs actively recruiting him.
"Miami, Florida, and South Carolina are some of the other schools that I am talking to," Torres said. "I Know that South Carolina is trying to get me up for a junior day in April. I have been in contact with Florida since I visited there.
"Right now I am just waiting to see what happens. I don't have any favorites. This has turned into a dream to be honest with you. I am working my butt off and trying to keep my head straight because I know good things are happening."
