CB Darin Smalls Profile
The Summerville junior holds offers from Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech, N.C. State, South Carolina and Virginia Tech.
"My favorites are USC, FSU and Clemson. That's the order," he told CUTigers in a recent interview.
But a decision won't be made in the near future. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound cornerback might wait until signing day.
Smalls, who last visited Clemson during the 2011 season for the North Carolina game, said there are several things that stand out to him about the Tigers.
"The football team, fans, the school, the surroundings and how it's in its own town," he said.
Clemson maintains steady contact with the three-star cornerback.
"They just love everything that I bring to the table. And I'm going to talk to the DB coach [Mike Reed] soon," he said.
This spring, Smalls has visited South Carolina, Florida State and UCF. He has two other destinations in mind.
"I'm trying to get to Clemson, and maybe Virginia Tech," he said.
As a junior, Smalls had 58 tackles [45 solos], over 600 return yards, three touchdown returns, five interceptions and 12 pass breakups.
During his sophomore season, he had 60 tackles, six interceptions and 21 pass breakups.
