James Impressed With Spartans

Niles Notre Dame (Ill.) class of 2014 running back Chris James visited Michigan State and was offered, and the four-star back holds a high opinion of the Spartans.

Michigan State became offer number eight today for Niles Notre Dame Prep's Chris James, a productive back who rushed for over 2,000 yards as a junior.

"It was great," he said of his visit to East Lansing. "The atmosphere was really cool."

Although a practice was going on, the Spartan staff made time for the 5'10, 198-lb James, and made sure he knew he was wanted in green and white.

"I talked with some of the coaches including Coach Dantonio. They told me I was really high on their list. I really liked the coaches. They were really straightforward and straight to the point."

Another plus James saw: the way MSU runs the ball.

"I love it. They feed the running backs the ball and the offense is pro style. I love it. "

As for where the Spartans stand, James says, "they are definitely really high on my list."

With offers from Illinois, Indiana, Georgia Tech, Minnesota and others, with more potentially on the way, James is not in a hurry to decide right now.

"I'm not sure," he said of a commitment date. "Once some more offers come in, I plan on narrowing them down."

James will visit Pittsburgh on Friday.
