It was following an "awesome" Sophomore Day visit to the University of Texas two weeks ago that DaMarkus Lodge fell for the 'Horns.
"I loved it," he said. "I talked to all the receivers. I work out with Mike Davis and Kendall Sanders, so it was good to see them. We got to watch them practice. The energy was crazy. It was my kind of practice."
"I got to talk to Coach [Darrell] Wyatt for a while. He said he loved me. He's only seen a little film, but my film was the first he watched and he'll be by this spring. All he needs to do is see me in action one time."
"He'll offer," Lodge answered.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound playmaker hopes it will be this easy for four others, as well.
"A&M has a great engineering program.. UT has a great tradition, it's like family there and the academics are the best around.. OSU produces good receivers, and I like Florida State and West Virginia offenses."
Lodge is headed to A&M's Sophomore Day Friday, and is confident it will go just as well "if not better" than Texas.
"Coach [David] Beaty was one of the first coaches on me," he noted. "I love Coach Beaty. We get to watch their night practice Friday. I'm excited to get down there."
