Bonney Close to 20 Offers

FOX Sports NEXT caught up with Houston Lamar defensive back John Bonney, who has pulled in a couple more offers over the past couple of weeks.

At this point he has nearly lost count. But when it comes to college recruiting, that is not so much of a bad thing in that options are there for today's athlete.

For Houston (TX) Lamar defensive back John Bonney, the number is somewhere close to 20 in the offer category.

"My latest offers have been from Nebraska, Tulsa, NC State, Utah and Washington State," Bonney informed FOX Sports NEXT.

In the last update, Louisville, TCU, Stanford and Kentucky were on that list. At that time, the count was 13 or 14 offers, according to the 6-foot-1, 180-pound Bonney.

At that time, Bonney had visited Texas, but has said that Ohio State, Auburn and Oklahoma, UCLA and Baylor could see him on campus at some point. As for more visits, that will be something discussed as a family. That, plus the notion that he will have to start slimming down his search here soon.

"I will have to check with my dad on the visits, but I know I will have to start narrowing it down soon," Bonney said. "Each school has something good to offer."

Bonney finished with over 50 tackles, 16 pass break ups and four interceptions. He said that he would like to be committed before his senior season, possibly before the end of his junior year.
