Sykes Adds Syracuse

Another offer is in for Montini Catholic (Ill.) LB Nile Sykes, from Syracuse. He talks about that and more inside.

Syracuse is the latest school to add to Montini Catholic (Ill.) linebacker Nile Sykes, who is starting to get some big looks at ‘backer even though he played defensive end last season.

"Coach Tim Lester messaged me earlier in the week telling me that they loved my film as a staff and to give him a call," Sykes said.

So Sykes gave Lester and the Orange a call, and ended up with an offer.

"So today I called him and got the good news, and they want me to play linebacker which is awesome," Sykes said.

Sykes has only had a few hours to really get to know Syracuse, but likes what he has seen so far.

"It's brand new," Sykes said of the new offer. "I know they won the Big East last year and are moving to the ACC. Also they have a whole college dedicated to sports management which is one field that I am wanting to major in, so that is awesome."

Most of the attention that Sykes is getting is at linebacker, and he is drawing some big attention.

"I think Maryland is really liking me," Sykes said. "I am also hearing from Iowa State, Vanderbilt, Indiana, Western Michigan, Purdue, Nebraska and Illinois."

He added, "My next visit is to Iowa State on the 20th."
