Wisconsin Stays Busy in Virginia

In what is turning out to be a key recruiting area for the University of Wisconsin, the Badgers extended Richmond (VA) Benedictine outside linebacker Raymon Minor his 13th scholarship offer on Wednesday.

Since joining Gary Andersen's first staff at Wisconsin, wide receivers coach Chris Beatty has turned Virginia into a recruiting hot spot, offering a number of talented skill position players who could have an immediate impact on UW's roster.

With that work comes another offer in Richmond Benedictine outside linebacker Raymon Minor, who received his offer Wednesday.

"I am very excited that I got offered from a big-time Big Ten school," Minor told Badger Nation. "It was very good. I don't really know that much about Wisconsin, but I like to go down there and visit the campus, meet the coaches and stuff like that."

Having talked to Beatty twice on the phone and a couple times on Facebook, Minor has already started to build a relationship with a school he has high interest in.

"I called the coach from Wisconsin and he told me that they were going to offer me a scholarship," said Minor. "I haven't talked to the coach a ton of times, but he sounded like a really good guy and good coach. I haven't really met him or anything like that. I am going to meet him in person and see how he is along with his personality. I like to meet all the coaches and see the school, too."

The 6-4, 215-pound Minor is not currently ranked in Fox Sports Next's initial rankings, but that could change with Minor holding 13 offers, including ones from Clemson, Miami, North Carolina, Oregon State, Rutgers, Virginia and Virginia Tech. However, fans shouldn't expect a decision anytime soon.

"My recruitment has been going good," he said. "Some more schools (are) going to probably offer me as well. No one is sticking out to me yet. I still have to sit down with my family, talk about what schools I like and cut down my list. First, I have to visit the schools before I make any decisions.

"I am just trying to finish school out and will sit down with my family in the summer probably."

While Minor does not have any camps or visits coming up, but recently got invited to a NIKE Camp in June, which he plans to attend.
