Simpson Holds Five Offers

Playing on a team with so many highly-rated prospects can be a blessing, but for Cleveland Glenville's Eric Simpson, it might cause him to be overlooked by fans. College recruiters are aware of the cornerback.

Cleveland Glenville cornerback Eric Simpson might not the most well known prospect on his team, but he has proven himself to be a quite a talented player.

Simpson, 6-foot, 185-pounds, played well last year as a junior, and has done well in the off season at various combines. He currently holds five offers.

"I have offers from Marshall, Akron, Kent State, Bowling Green and Toledo," Simpson stated. "Of those schools, I would say Toledo is sticking out the most to me. They have stayed in touch the most, and I like Coach (Matt) Campbell a lot. I've visited all these schools but Marshall."

Several other schools have been in contact, and although they have not offered to date, they are recruiting Simpson.

"I would say Pittsburgh, Louisville and Indiana are showing the most interest at this time," he explained. "I went to a game at Indiana last year, and I liked the campus and the facilities. We speak every so often, and I'm very interested."

"Louisville is a great program, and they said they need more film from me," he added. "I'm going to go to Louisville's camp for sure, so they can see the type of player and person I am. Pittsburgh is a place I camped at last summer, and I'm going to go again this year. They also seem very interested, and I'd love to have that offer."

Simpson, who also runs track at Glenville, is unsure of his summer camp schedule at this time, stating that he hopes to get to as many schools as possible.
