Crum pulls the trigger for Louisville

The day of the University of Louisville football spring game started off with a commitment even before the game began. Columbus, Ohio, athlete Micky Crum gave the U of L staff a verbal commitment. Cardinal Authority has the latest.

The University of Louisville has more than a dozen prospects in town for the Spring Game on Saturday afternoon.

And even before the game started, one of those prospects committed.

Columbus, Ohio, Hamilton Township tight end Micky Crum told U of L coach Charlie Strong that he was committing to the Cardinals.

"It feels great," Crum said. "I am so excited."

The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Crum also had offers from Illinois and Bowling Green and was getting looks from Wisconsin, Indiana and Cincinnati among others.

Crum runs a 4.7 40-yard dash.

"Coach Strong, he's the man," Crum said. "He's very passionate, the city and the place they're heading (with the program)."

Crum said when he told Strong that "he smiled to big and said welcome. He kind of jumped up a little bit too."
