Simmons Says Stanford

The Arlington (Texas) Mansfield Timberview four-star safety, Brandon Simmons, committed to Stanford on Saturday...

Arlington (Texas) Mansfield Timberview safety Brandon Simmons just needed to see Stanford.

And after the four-star spent time there this weekend, it was enough for him to give the Cardinal his commitment.

Simmons, who's already been selected to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, committed to the Cardinal on Saturday afternoon.

"Brandon has committed to Stanford," said his father, Kashann. "He is a Cardinal."

Simmons was visiting Stanford as part of a whirlwind weekend, where he saw all four Pac-12 schools in the Golden State.

He becomes the first public commit to the Cardinal in the 2014 class.

The 8th ranked safety in the country, Simmons chose the Cardinal over offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, Boise State, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas State, Louisiana, LSU, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Purdue, Rutgers, SMU, TCU, Temple, Tennessee, Texas Tech, UCLA, Virginia and West Virginia.
