Hansen Commits to Oklahoma

Edmond (Okla.) Santa Fe quarterback Justice Hansen committed to Oklahoma on Saturday prior to the Sooners' spring game and is the third OU commit for the 2014 class...

At last weekend's Dallas Elite 11 quarterback camp, Edmond (Okla.) Santa Fe quarterback Justice Hansen said he was nearing a decision, ultimately choosing between Texas A&M and Oklahoma.

A week later, Hansen had his decision, committing to the Sooners prior to their spring football game.

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound prospect had recently taken a trip to Norman and enjoyed the "behind-the-scenes" experience.

"I'd been up there for some games, so it was nice to [go to] practices and meet their coaches," he said."

Hansen cited tradition and proximity as two reasons why he liked the Sooners' program, also stating, "it fits me pretty well."

The signal-caller, who is rated as Scout's #10 quarterback prospect, threw for 3079 yards for thirty-six touchdowns and just nine interceptions his junior season. Hansen rushed for an additional almost 775 yards and fourteen touchdowns.

National recruiting analyst Greg Powers has praised Hansen's pocket presence, stating, "He will step up in the pocket and deliver a very accurate and catchable ball. He is also a threat on the ground.

"While he is not a blazer, he is smart with the football and is a determined runner who shows the ability to move in the pocket and set up quickly to get the ball down the field. He does not panic while under pressure."

Hansen is the Sooners' third 2014 commit, joining Hendrickson (Tex.) Pflugerville running back Samaje Perine and Lancaster (Tex.) outside linebacker Vontre McQuinnie.
