Chad Cessna is blessed with great size at 6-foot-5, 270-pounds, but he's not just a big man. Cessna says he is a cerebral lineman as well.
"My strengths are pass protection and that I'm a smart player. I can recognize blitzes and pick them up most of the time," Cessna said. "I'm trying to get stronger and faster. And I'm working on finishing blocks and also being a more consistent player."
Cessna was a part of a struggling program at Hopkinsville, but last season there was light at the end of the tunnel. And Cessna's own individual play mirrored that of his program.
"I feel like I played alright. I didn't play at as high of a level all the time that I could have. But for the most part, I played fairly decent."
Cessna is just beginning to reap the rewards of his play last season and is beginning to hear from a few schools.
"I went to visit Austin Peay last November. I was going to go to Middle Tennessee's spring game, but my coach that had planned to take me was unable to take me," he said.
