Gabriel Has Interest In Cajuns

McKinley High School DE/OLB Jordan Gabriel (6'3,225) is another one of Louisiana's sleepers in the 2013 Class. Gabriel recently visited UL campus to watch the Ragin' Cajun's spring football game. Go inside the Cajun Redzone to get the rest of the story!

McKinley High DE/OLB Jordan Gabriel was one of a number of high school athletes to attend the Louisiana Ragin' Cajun's spring football game at Cajun Field in April. Gabriel came away from the Cajun's spring game impressed with the program.

"I really lilked the staff and the program," Gabriel stated. "Coach Edwards told me I could probably play defensive end in their system but they wanted to come to one of their camps in June. I think I have enough speed to play outside linebacker in any system as well."

Gabriel has flown under the radar to some extent because he had to sit out after transfering to McKinley High from Texas. Jordan didn't get to start until later in his junior season, but showed flashes of an athlete that could become a solid college football prospect.

"I had to sit out because I moved back to Louisiana from Texas after living with my uncle," Jordan said. "I had to earn my playing time on the field with the staff and show them that I could help them team."

Jordan Gabriel's main interest until recently came from Texas State.

"Texas State was the first school to show some interest in me this year," Gabriel mentioned. "Now I have interest from UL, Louisiana Tech, South Alabama and Nichols State. Those are the schools that I plan on going to camps to this summer. I will try and make one of LSU's camps as well."

Jordan Gabriel is waiting for his ACT scores and currently holds a 2.6 GPA in the class room.
