Two Sports for McLaughlin?

The Lake Oswego (Ore.) Lakeridge athlete, J.R. McLaughlin, is hoping to play two sports in college...

Lake Oswego (Ore.) Lakeridge receiver J.R. McLaughlin is 100% healthy after an injury took a way much of his junior year.

"I was having a good year before I got hurt against Oregon City," said McLaughlin. "So this spring is big for me."

The 6-2, 190-pounder, who also plays lacrosse, has had a few Ivy League schools show interest.

"There have been a couple of Ivy League schools that are interested," said McLaughlin. "I've been talking to Harvard and Princeton lately. But I'm looking for more West Coast interest."

And one West Coast school, in particular, McLaughlin is hoping to get an offer from.

"My dream is to play at Oregon State," said McLaughlin. "It's close to home and I just love the team."

McLaughlin plays receiver and played strong safety and outside linebacker, but said receiver is where he wants to play.

He's also looking at the potential of playing football and lacrosse.

"Harvard presents a good choice, because I could have the opportunity to play both," said McLaughlin. "It would be cool to have that opportunity."

Academically, McLaughlin has a 4.0 and will take the SAT next month.

He'll also camp at Princeton and Harvard as well as the Barton Camp.
