Quarells has Four Offers

Hazelwood Central WR Matt Quarells will be playing on the D1 level, he already has four offers and one of them being a BCS...

Matthew Quarells, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound wide receiver from Hazelwood (Mo.) Central High is steadily receiving D1 interest and is already putting together a nice offer list.

"Ball State, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas State," Quarells began when asked about schools.

"I got an offer yesterday from Toledo. Ball State offered me, New Mexico offered me and Illinois offered me. A few schools.

Quarells knows that he is just at the beginning of a long race, in terms of his football development, but is pleased with all of the early offers.

"It is a good feeling," admitted Quarells. "I am blessed I guess."

This summer he hopes to get out and earn a few more offers with stops at a number of camps.

"Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, Missouri, just a bunch of schools," Quarells answered when asked where he was to camp.

Quarells feels like his two biggest attributes are his "speed" and the fact that he is a "big-time deep threat".

"I look up to Jerry Rice," Quarells informed. "He is just elusive. He is just an all-around great receiver. He has got perfect hands, the route running. He is just the total package."

As a junior in 2012, Quarells hauled in 50 receptions for 545 yards and three touchdowns. Hazelwood Central was 7-0 in district play.
