Gibson excited by Seminoles offer

Kyle Gibson grew up a fan of Florida State and when his recruitment process began, he hoped the Seminoles would show some interest. The 2014 safety didn't hear much from FSU – until now. He picked up an offer from the ‘Noles Saturday and he's pretty excited about it.

The first time Kyle Gibson ever spoke with Florida State Defensive Coordinator Jeremy Pruitt, Pruitt told the junior safety he had an offer from the Seminoles.

"It's very exciting. When I started to get my first few offers, that was the offer that I was kind of always waiting on, but they never showed any interest. The offer just came out of nowhere a little bit," Gibson said.

"When I was growing up, that was the team I always followed."

The Armwood (Seffner, FL) had previously named his four favorites as Louisville, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, and UCF. He said the FSU offer changes things a little bit, but he's not quite ready to put the ‘Noles on his leader-list just yet.

"I have to find out a little bit more like what they would want to do with me and how they'd use me as far as playing time and stuff like that," he said.

"I think I'll probably try to go up to camp this summer."

While he wants to learn more specifics about he would be used at FSU, he's already pretty familiar with the program overall.

"I just like the swagger of the defense and the playing style and all the players that they put out every year. I know a lot about the school and I just like it as a whole," Gibson said.

Gibson plans to do some traveling this summer but doesn't have anything concrete on his calendar yet. Stay tuned to FOX Sports NEXT for the latest.
