Barwick Comfortable Where He Stands

Ohio defensive tackle Michael Barwick is working his plan and comfortable where he's sitting as the recruiting process continues.

Having added two new offers recently, Cincinnati (Ohio) Summit Country Day standout Michael Barwick is happy about the progress of his recruitment.

"Central Michigan and Buffalo are my two newest offers," Barwick told FOX Sports NEXT. "I'm now up to nine offers.

"Coach (Archie) Collins is the coach recruiting me from Central Michigan. He came down to visit my school and I got a chance to say hi to him. He seems to be a great guy from talking with him on Facebook and on the phone.

"Coach (Marty) Spieler is my recruiting coach from Buffalo. I've not done a lot of research about them but I need too. One thing I know is they are a top notch school for education and I like to hear that."

Another program high on Barwick's list is Indiana who is making sure the defensive tackle is getting their full attention.

"At Indiana, I'm talking with head coach Kevin Wilson as well as Coach (Jon) Fabris, Coach (James) Patton and Coach (Doug) Mallory," said Barwick. "I know a lot about them and should be getting up there for a visit again in June."

While others might be looking to increase their offer total with summer camps, Barwick is looking to focus more on learning about those who've already shown interest.

"Right now I'm just taking it slow and getting out and making sure I visit all the schools that have offered me," explained Barwick. "I want to see them before I make my decision. My parents will also be part of my decision as I get their feedback on what they think about each school."

With a game plan to visit those who have offered, Barwick also has thoughts on when he'll make his decision known.

"Right now I would like to make my decision sometime at the end of the summer," said Barwick. "I don't have a favorite right now and I think I'm pretty happy with what I have so I'm not planning to attend any camps this summer.

"I'm looking for that place that feels like home and has good academics and a good atmosphere. I'm going to know when that time comes and that place feels like home, I'll know."

In handling the recruiting process, Barwick knows to take things in stride.

"This process can make a person stressed out with who is offering you and who is not," said Barwick. "But schools are going to find you and the offers are going to come." will continue to follow Barwick as he works his way to making his college decision.
