Cornerback Excited By Missouri Offer

The Missouri Tigers will receive an unofficial visit this summer from a Texas speedster who they recently offered. has his thoughts on the offer and details of his recruitment inside.

When Missouri Defensive Coordinator, Dave Steckel, stopped in last week at Desoto High School, he had some news for a couple of Claude Mathis’ players. Coach Steckel had gone back to where Missouri All-American return man Marcus Murphy played his high school football, and while he was there, Coach Stec informed Coach Mathis that Missouri has extended a scholarship offer to 2014 CB prospect Nick Orr 5’10” 170 DeSoto (TX). Afterwards, Orr spoke with, and he talked about the Missouri offer, and he updated us on his recruitment.

“Missouri offered me last week,” said Orr. “Coach Stec stopped by our school last week…………………………………………….. I was really excited about the Missouri offer. It’s an SEC offer, so that’s big for me. I like Missouri. I’ve watched them before, because of Murph, but I’ll watch them more this year.”

Orr currently holds offers from Kansas, North Texas, and Texas Tech, in addition to Missouri.

Orr plays safety and also runs track at Desoto. He told me that he runs the 4x100 relay, and that he has been timed with a 9.86-second split.

Coach Mathis has timed Orr at 4.35 in the forty, but he said that his forty time is usually in the range of 4.39 - 4.42. He’s posted a 34” vertical and a 4.3 shuttle time.

This year, Orr will handle some return duties for DeSoto.

He said that he considers Missouri as a possible destination for him.

“I like Missouri a lot,” said Orr. “I’d like to get up there to make a visit. From what I’ve seen, I like Missouri.”

Orr said that he will probably take an unofficial visit to Missouri this summer.
