Iowa State has been giving a hard look to a number of defensive backs for the 2014 class. One of those players is Largo corner Cordell Hudson.
Hudson has been hearing from several schools, but currently two programs stand out for him.
"Iowa State and Wake Forest," Hudson said of the programs recruiting him most.
And who else is in the picture?
But Hudson isn't limiting himself to that group of five schools.
"There re a lot more schools that I'm interested in. What I'm looking for is schools with great engineering programs, like Iowa State, Michigan or California. That's what I want to major in," he continued.
Hudson admits he doesn't know much about the Cyclones, but he wants to know more about the school and the program.
"I don't know much at the moment. We had a player (from here) go there a couple of year ago. That's pretty much all I know about them. They asked me if I was going to try to take a visit up there this summer," he said.
Hudson isn't ready to make his decision just yet.
"I'm just feeling things out. I was talking to my mom and if things turn out the way I want it to, I should be making my decision around mid-season," he said.
Hudson is going to continue to work on his game during the off-season to become a more complete player.
"My ball skills are excellent. I'm working on my speed. I'm down to 4.6. I've got good route recognition. I want to get bigger and faster. I want t be more versatile. I don't want to stick to just one position. I want to work more on being a safety and I also want to play some wide receiver," he said.
Hudson had 31 tackles last season and three interceptions.
