NorCal Notes From the Road: Day Three

Scout is on the road all week in Northern California and here are news and notes from Day Three...

Scout was through the Bay Area on the final of three days through Northern California, stopping by a number of high schools.  Here are some news and notes from Day Three in NorCal.

Palo Alto (Calif.) quarterback Keller Chryst..

Chryst Names a Top Four

California's top quarterback has been pretty elusive for the past few months, shying away from the media and doing interviews.

But Chryst did talk on the tour and the four-star said that he has four schools standing out.

"Right now, Alabama, Pitt, Stanford and USC are the ones I'm focusing on," said Chryst. "I haven't planned out which ones I'll camp with."

Chryst said there is no time frame for when he'll make his decision.

"Once I know, I'll commit as soon as I can," said Chryst. "I don't want to rush into an unwise decision right now."

Quick Hitters

  • Pittsburg (Calif.) running back Harris Ross has an offer from Sacramento State and schools like Fresno State, San Diego State, San Jose State and Utah have been in consistent contact with him.

  • Pittsburg (Calif.) defensive back Xavier Crawford has offers from San Jose State, Wyoming and Montana.  Stanford, USC, Cal, Houston, Idaho, Utah, Washington State, Oregon and Hawaii have all been through to see him this spring.

  • Pittsburg (Calif.) defensive end Chibu Onyeukwu had Wyoming coaches come by this week and could be the closest to offering.  Cal is his dream school and he's hearing from Fresno State, Sacramento State and San Jose State as well as Wyoming.

  • Palo Alto (Calif.) linebacker Andrew Frick is waiting for his first offer but is hearing from several Ivy League schools, notably Yale, Princeton, Harvard and Brown.
  • Palo Alto (Calif.) receiver Malcolm Davis is hearing from Boise State, Northwestern, Yale and Illinois, with the Broncos and Wildcats his top schools.  A Chicago native, Northwestern and Illinois stand out to Davis, who will camp with Northwestern this summer.

  • Palo Alto (Calif.) offensive lineman Jack Anderson visited Yale, Princeton, Harvard, Brown, Dartmouth, Columbia and Georgetown over spring break and Columbia offered him this week.  His brother plays at Stanford and the Cardinal want him to camp with them.

  • Atherton (Calif.) Menlo quarterback Jack Heneghan has had Yale, Princeton, Penn and Harvard all come by and San Jose State, Cal, San Diego and Stanford have also come see him throw.
