CB With Big Spring Game

Napoleon Maxwell had a big spring game against Tampa Berkley Prep on Thursday. He recently switched from safety to cornerback and it could pay off well for this rising senior.

Napoleon Maxwell (St. Petersburg, Fla./Admiral Farragut) had a good spring. This former safety moved to cornerback at the advice of his new high school coach Buster Davis. Davis was a former bluechip recruit that played at Florida State.

"He's just too good of an athlete and he has great size (6-0.5/190) for the position," Davis said. "Those guys are just too hard to come by. He had a great game on Thursday. He showed he can move in space and make split decisions. He made plays versus the run and in the passing game. Napoleon has natural instincts for the cornerback position."

According to Davis Ball State has offered since the spring game on Thursday versus Tampa (Fla.) Berkley Prep. 21 other schools were in attendance including Rutgers, Indiana, Iowa State, Memphis, and Cincinnati.

"I bet he picks up 10 new offers between now and the end of the month," Davis said. "FIU, Ball State, UMass and Virginia have now offered him."

Davis said Maxwell plans on camping at FSU, Florida and Georgia and perhaps Miami as well.
