Interest Picking Up for Hudson

Adding several offers in a two week span is big for any prospect. It meant even more to Cordell Hudson as they were his first. He discusses the recent increase in interest and the latest with his recruitment inside.

Largo (FL) defensive back Cordell Hudson has seen his interest pick up dramatically in the last two weeks. He's added several offers, and says he's excited about the attention.

"This week I picked up offers from Syracuse, Boston College, and Florida Tech," Hudson claimed. "Last week I picked up my first offers from Iowa State, Wake Forest, South Alabama, Air Force and Ball State. It was really exciting when it first happened. I wasn't really expecting it to happen like this.

"Now I'm just taking it all in and going through the recruiting process. My interest is picking up a lot right now. I'm just focusing on my spring game and focusing on football right now."

One of the schools to offer was Syracuse, who stopped by his school recently during a recent recruiting tour of Florida.

"They actually talked to my coach before practice," Hudson recalled. "Then they watched me practice. We did everything during practice including offense versus defense. I'm not sure if they offered me as a receiver or DB but I'm pretty sure it's a DB.

"The coach (Tim Lester) said he enjoyed watching me practice and he's real excited about me."

Still early in the process, Hudson says he is still wide open as he takes the recruiting process in. However, he knows what what's important to him in a potential landing spot.

"Right now I don't really have any favorites," Hudson admitted. "What I'm really looking for are schools with good engineering programs and good football teams. That's really what I'm interested in."

Hudson has a busy summer scheduled as he looks to take several visits in the hopes of adding even more offers. One of those trips will likely be up north to take in the Syracuse campus.

"I'm actually taking a road trip with my seven on seven team," Hudson explained. "We'll be going to four or five different camps. Clemson, Louisville, Kentucky, Georgia, and there's one more I can't think of. That's all in the next two weeks. I was thinking I would get up to Syracuse by the end of the summer."
