Quick Hitter: Moore Talks USM Visit

Southern Miss had a few visitors in for an unofficial visit to campus Wednesday. One was C.J. Moore from Bassfield. He detailed his visit with GoldenEaglePride.com.

C.J. Moore received an early offer from the Eagles back in the spring. He's continued to develop that relationship with the coaches, and took a visit along with two other prospects Wednesday to Hattiesburg.

He gave us some insight into the visit.

"It was a lot of fun, we toured the facilities and we always talk academics with the coaches," Moore said.

"We sat around and talked football. I'm telling you, these coaches, they are all good people. I really love these guys."

Moore talked more about his relationship with Coach Monken.

"I think he keeps it real," he said. "He's a real guy who is very funny. He has a great relationship with his players and you can really tell that. He is just a cool guy who would be fun to play for."

Moore said he has no worries academically and will be a full qualifier.

"Southern Miss is right at the top for me right now," he said. "I'm going to hit a few camps this summer. I have Mississippi State on the 6th, Ole Miss on the 7th, and Louisiana on the 10th.

"I want to go through the summer and let all my options play out. Right now I'm going to just see what happens. I'm not worried about committing just yet. I want to lead my team back to a championship again, so that's most important.

"If the right fit just happens, then I'll know it, but I'm certainly going to let it play out."
